Dr. Krishna Warhade has completed his PhD with specilization in communications and signal processing from IIT Bombay. Currently he is working as a Professor at School of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University (MITWPU), Pune. He has a teaching experience of 24 years. He is the Dean of Research Development Innovation and Consultancy and Head of PhD Research Center at MITWPU, Pune. He is a Advisory member at MIT Technology Business Incubator. He is instrumental in motivating students to start their own start ups.
He is the Vice President and Convener of Institutions Innovation Council ( Part of MHRD’s Innovation Cell) at MITWPU and has organised various enterprenuership, incubation, design thinking and start up workshops under this council. He is the SPOC from MITWPU for Smart India Hackathon organised by MHRD, AICTE, i4C and Persistent. Under his mentorship, MITWPU teams have won Nine prizes in 2017, Nine prizes in 2018 and a total of Nine first prizes in various categories at Smart India Hackathon 2019. Also one team from MITWPU has won second runner up prize at Singapore- India Hackathon in 2018. He is also the Remote Center Coordinator for MHRD-IIT Bombay National Mission on Education through ICT and also conducted various workshops for faculties at MITWPU through Remote Center. He has also handled various responsibilties like Dean R&D, Dean Second Shift, Head of Department and PhD Research Center Coordinator at MIT College of Engineering.
He is teaching various subjects like Digital Signal Processing, Computer Vision, Image Processing, Wavelets, Embedded Signal Processing, Biomedical Signal Processing and Research Methodology to undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students. His research interest includes Video processing, Computer vision, Healthcare and Precision Agriculture. He has published a total of 23 papers in international journals and 14 papers in International conferences. He is the author of the book titled “ Video Shot Boundary Detection” co- authored by Dr. S. N. Merchant ( Professor IIT Bombay), and Dr. U. B. Desai , Director IIT Hyderabad, Published by River Publishers, Denmark. He has also written a chapter in book tilted “ Research Methodology, A practical and scientific based approach” published by CRC press, Taylor and Francis.
He has guided a total of 22 M.Tech students and is currently guiding 5 PhD students. He has completed the following collaborative projects “Intelligent Health Monitoring System for the Point Machine” with Konkan Railway, “ Missing Children” with Blackberry, “ Carbon footprint App development” with TERRE policy center and “ Air Quality Index App development” with IITM. He is instrumental in conducting various Short Term Training Programmes, Faculty development programmes and conferences. He worked as a Reviewer for various conferences and journals. He was also invited for various interactive talks at workshops and conferences. He is a Life Member of ISTE and also a member of IET.
He received “ Ideal Teacher Award” in 2019 from MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions.
